Caps Show Since of Urgency, Win 4-0

The Washington Capitals came out with a sense of urgency and portrayed the team that won the Southeast Division along with 50 wins as they defeated the New York Rangers 4-0 to cut the best of seven series to 2-1.

Capitals rookie goalie Simeon Varlamov stole the show at Madison Square Garden, with 33 saves and a shutout of the Rangers.

Alexander Semin scored two goals and Alexander Ovechkin went scoreless again; however, he did have two assists.

Washington did a good job of avoiding the harassing left wing in Sean Avery. Instead of trying to battle with Avery, Washington stuck to their game plan and was successful, while Avery went to the penalty box four consecutive times.
