Patriots Rookie LB Tyrone McKenzie Injured

The Boston Globe is reporting that Patriots Rookie LB Tyrone McKenzie was injured early this morning in a pass coverage drill. He did not return to practice, but was observing the rest of it from the sidelines.



McKenzie, who was covering a running back, remained on the ground after trying to swat away a pass. He was holding his right knee as he was looked at by members of the team's medical/training staff.

McKenzie watched the rest of the practice, standing up, from the sidelines.

The first question Bill Belichick was asked by media members was if it was tough to see McKenzie go down, and if he could provide an update on his status.
