Cubs Get on the Right Track, Send Jeff Samardzija to AAA and Call Up Chad Fox

Fox is a journeyman veteran who has a career 3.60 ERA in 217 games.
Following placing Carlos Zambrano on the Disabled List, the Cubs had to look for more starting pitching options because they chose to call up Samardzija early rather than try to stretch him out to be a starter and let him develop in AAA ball. The Cubs have not indicated who will take Zambrano's spot in the rotation, who is expected to miss at least one start, but will probably go with Jose Ascaino when the time comes.
