Who knew that not only was Spock starring in a blockbuster movie—he’s also a Lakers fan? Some logicians might find L.A.’s listless seven-game series against the lowly Rockets evidence that Denver may get the upper hand. But until Melo proves he can play like a Klingon—i.e., with a killer instinct—in the playoffs, we’ll stick with the Lakers.

Forget the Trekkie metaphors—Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are much more apt descriptions for these Lakers. How else can you possibly explain LA struggling against a team without Yao or T-Mac? The real question is which one will show up against Denver.
