Mets Exploring Deal For Cleveland’s Mark DeRosa

According to an AOL Fanhouse Report, the Mets have contacted the Indians about Mark DeRosa, who is capable of playing pretty much any position on the field.
While the acquisition of DeRosa would certainly help the Mets’ depth problems, I am not sure if he would be worth the return. The NY Post Speculates that it may cost JJ Putz, which would create a bigger hole in the bullpen.
I know that Putz has failed to dazzle the fan base thus far, but we need to remember that it is still May, and he has been battling quite a few injuries. Putz on top of his game is one of the best set-up men in the game.
