Peavy About to Join White Sox; Cubs Miss Their Chance

This morning, I could not have imagined the White Sox getting Jake Peavy. However, at 10:54 am, all that remains is for Peavy to agree to waive his no trade clause, and he will become a member of the Chicago White Sox for the next few years.

Speaking from the perspective of a Chicago Cubs fan, I would be lying if I said that I was not infuriated by this turn of events. After all, the Cubs appeared to be moving players all offseason to land this guy. He wanted to come to the Cubs, yet "Big" Jim Hendry could not get the deal done.

It was my understanding that moving DeRosa, Marquis, as well as other members of last year's team was the reasoning behind all of the moves; apparently, I was very wrong.
