Maybe, just maybe, the Cubs are back to their winning ways for good.
On a warm Houston night with the roof open, the Cubs got their fifth win in the young month of May and have won every game in May, barring Tuesday night, when Chicago was shut down by Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum.
Throughout May, the Cubs have shown a surprising amount of precisely what they lacked in April: consistency.
Hitting has improved, pitching has been solid, and most players (Milton Bradley and Geovany Soto aside) have begun to creep out of their slumps and find a rhythm at the plate.
