The midseason classic used to be an entertaining collection of the game’s greatest stars, putting them on the same field together and watching the magical interplay between them.
But since commissioner Bud Selig decided to make the game mean something, it has become an entirely different entity.
This year, with all of the hoopla surrounding Manny Ramirez's surprising All-Star vote tally (he's currently fifth among NL outfielders) and Jimmy Rollins’ unexpected rise to a starting spot, voters are still struggling to grasp the importance of the game.
I think that it’s time we took a step back and re-evaluated how we, as fans, should vote for our All-Stars....
