Sometimes being a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds is not an easy job. How long has it been since we have had a winner?
Not a pennant winner, I mean a winner, as in more wins than losses?
Time’s up, it was barely in this millennium, 2000. That year, the Reds finished in second place behind St. Louis by 10 games. Cincinnati was 85-77 that year.
Remember now? That was the year Griffey hit 40 HR. Sean Casey, Barry Larkin, and Dmitri Young all batted over .300.
They won 85 games with subpar starting pitching.
