According to David Lennon of the New York Newsday, the Mets have placed RHP John Maine on the 15 Day DL with “shoulder fatigue.”
Here is a fascinating quote by Maine in regards to the injury: “It’s nothing serious. It’s just my shoulder is dead.”
What? It’s nothing serious, but your shoulder is dead??? I hope Maine was joking with that comment. That’s like saying “I am doing well financially. I just filed for bankruptcy.”
The Mets now need a starter (Oliver Perez is still not ready to come back). The Red Sox are going to trade Brad Penny next week. I smell a match.
