It's the battle cry for many a sports fan after the inevitable truth, which at the start of every season seems to be a far off possibility, finally comes to be: only one team can win a championship. In football, that means that every city has a 1-32 shot at the Lombardi trophy. In basketball, those odds become 1-30.
And in baseball, the magic odds are 1-30. But these odds don't stop the most avid of sports fans from believing at the outset that their team will be 'the one' this year. Alright, so maybe every sports fan except the Cubs fans.
