However, before Santos’s heroics took place, another young Met had a pretty good game of his own.
Mike Pelfrey went 7 2/3 innings, giving up just one earned run and he was excellent all night long. Instead of just pounding sinkers inside, he mixed his pitches very well, utilizing his fastball, sinker and breaking pitches better than he ever has in his career.
