Baseball is in a dreadful state, in the steroid era, as it is plagued by steroids, scandals, and cheating. We can point fingers at Bud Selig or the coaches and players who turned their backs, but at this point we have gotten so deep in the issue, it's time to just fix it rather than blame others.

The real danger and controversy with steroids is the indisputable fact that is works. Other forms of cheating have been investigated in the past, and more often than not the scandals involve negligible advantage to a player.
