Many people claim that the middle infielders should not be held to the same standard as other players. These two positions have become proverbial weak-hitting, slick-fielding, fast players.
This is not always the case.
Many of the stereotypical middle infielders have given place to power hitters, high-average hitters and still good fielders.
The newer generation (not all are eligible for the Hall of Fame) has produced power hitters, i.e., Alfonso Soriano, Chase Utley, Dan Uggla and Brandon Phillips.
Having said that, I have added more defense to the formula I am using to determine this list.
After much research I present to you the Top 10 Eligible Second Basemen Not In the Hall of Fame.
