Steelers Sign James Harrison: $51.75 Million

The NFL Defensive Player of the year, James Harrison, signed a contract on April 13, 2009 with a reported six-year, $51.75 million extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers. By the end of the 2008 NFL season, Harrison had 309 tackles and 28.5 sacks.
On behalf of the Pittsburgh Steelers, this is one of the best moves they have made. It is also one of the largest, behind Ben Roethlisberger’s contract of $102 million over eight years.
