Every year (barring a freak lockout) around this time we get to experience the joy that is the NHL playoffs. Where players become heroes, and kids and kids at heart (us), cheer for their home teams.

The NHL playoffs keep seventh graders up until the wee hours watching five overtime thrillers, it gives that fan of the underdog something to smile about the next day at work, and it gives me an opportunity to tell you why I love every minute of the race to Lord Stanley's Cup..
